About Barbara Ellen Wood

The most exciting and energizing aspect of photography, for me, is discovering natural compositions created by nature.I enjoy searching the woods and garden for that part of the environment that attracts my eye whether in the surrounding landscape or in the tiniest parts of flowers or leaves.

I sometimes find humanoid qualities within the images, a personality trait such as a narcissistic flower entranced by its own reflected image or elegant grass dancing in the morning sun.  In other images the interaction of manmade and natural elements such as a wrought iron fence in soft focus behind an orchid or the shadow of a window framing a flower or leaf are as important to me as the in focus object in the photograph.

My hope is that my photographs inspire the viewer to look for even the tiniest masterpieces already created in nature.
